| Biography |
Ildikó Lázár obtained her MA in English and French language and literature in 1989, her PhD in Language Pedagogy in 2007, and her habilitation degree in 2022. She has been teaching EFL, language teaching methodology, cultural studies and intercultural communication at the School of English and American Studies at ELTE since 1996. She has also been coordinating international research and training projects for the Council of Europe and the European Commission in the past 20 years, planning and running professional development workshops on intercultural competence development as well as creating learning materials and tools that help teachers and learners benefit from diversity in schools. She has published research articles on intercultural language teaching with a special focus on the potential benefits of telecollaboration and on ways to bring about change in teachers’ personal theories about and practice of teaching. She has published articles and books on the methodology of developing and assessing intercultural competence and edited studies for several international journals and publishing houses. She teaches two elective courses in the PhD Programme in Language Pedagogy and English Applied Linguistics: Language Education for Intercultural Competence Development and Classroom Assessment in Language Education. |
